A great location, a dated home and a blended family of six. The question is, do they move or undertake a massive rebuilding project to make the home suit their specific needs. We are happy to report, they decided on the latter. The goal was to create a family home where everyone was afforded their privacy while having areas that they could all spend time together. Entertaining friends and family was a priority.
Formerly a rectangular foot print, two additions were added to create a “U” shaped layout. A deluxe master suite and an area for each of the kids to have their own bedrooms and bathrooms.
In the main living areas the walls came down. An open concept great room/kitchen with a huge island to accommodate the whole family (plus a few friends). A double oven was on the wishlist, without a wall to put it on. Instead, we incorporated the double oven into the large island. A pass-through kitchen window and double patio doors were incorporated into the design to the outdoor patio area making the transition from indoors out open and inviting.
The entire home was updated with modern flooring, trim and paint to create a home that this large family can live in happily for many years to come.
